Meditation

What is Mindfulness Meditation?

Mindfulness Meditation is the energy that helps us recognize the conditions of happiness that are already present in our lives. That is why mindfulness is a source of happiness and joy. What we begin to discover is that this calmness or harmony is a natural aspect of the mind. Through mindfulness practice we are just developing and strengthening it, and eventually we are able to remain peacefully in our mind without struggling. Our mind naturally feels content.

Learning to Meditate

Get Comfortable

Sit in a comfortable position with the spine straight, but not rigid. You can sit on a chair or the floor. The important thing is to sit in an upright posture that you will be able to maintain for a period of about 20 minutes. You never want to lie down as it will be too easy to fall asleep. Once you are in a comfortable position, find a relaxed and comfortable position. Resist the urge to move around, scratch itches and the like. This will take a little practice and become very natural in time.

Just breathe

Breathing is extremely important in mindfulness meditation. You should let your breath be calm and natural. Most people have fallen into a habit of breathing only with the top half (chest area) of their lungs. One should develop the normal everyday breathing habit of first bring the air into the bottom half of the lungs. When this is done the stomach will expand with each inhalation and fall with each exhalation. After you breathe in using the bottom half, next go to the top half of the lungs with the breath. As you go through your day become aware of your breath and how you are breathing. You will find that you most likely take short shallow breaths. With a deep fuller breath you can eliminate a whole host of problems, including anxiety, stress and tension.

BECOME AWARE

Become aware of your breath and the rising and lowering of your chest, any sensations you may feel. The important thing is to keep your mind in the present and not be thinking about what you need to do tomorrow or the next day. You should allow the thoughts to come and go without judgment or trying to make some sort of meaning out of them. Just let them flow through your mind like the water flowing in a river

 STAY FOCUSED

Stay Focused Stay focused and aware of the present moment. It’s living here and now. Through mindfulness, you are freed from becoming entangled in thoughts of your past, and you are freed from worrying about the future.

STAY IN THE HERE AND NOW, EVERYTHING JUST IS…AND THERE IS GREAT PEACE IN THAT!

WHAT ARE IMAGINATIVE SCRITPING AND DREAM MESSENGING?

Imaginative Scripting is a technique similar to Guided Imagry that stimulates a child’s imagination in a direction that promotes an internal connection between subconscious thought and conscious awareness. Through guidance from scripted words that parents can read to their children,  parents are then able to promote and encourage positive behavior, and address behavioral issues.

Dream Messaging is a technique that promotes both better sleep habits and well being in children. Parents can create better sleep patterns by becoming in sync with the alpha brain wave patterns during twilight sleep.  Pre-sleep suggestions become incorporated in the subconscious and manifest themsleves in pleasant dreams.     This gives parents the opportunity to instill secure and loving messages that create confidence and greater self-esteem in children.

WHY DO THESE TECHNIQUES WORK?

Most children have a powerful ability to use their imaginations to help self-regulate and empower themselves, far faster than adults. Through Guided Imagery,   stories, visualizations, imaginative games, role playing, helps them focus  on teaching them how  to help themselves by learning to connect with their inner core and feelings, develop self-awareness and understanding, and to think through and creatively solve problems. Meditations have individual and distinct themes that brings children a source of strength and wisdom  within themselves, and as a result increases self-esteem and problem solving skills. Mindfulness can create confidence and self-esteem in your children through awareness focus.
